TIPS FOR MEASURING:

When measuring for jackets, it is best to wear a well fitted shirt. You can use the seams on the shirt as a guide line for the required measurements.

Please remember when measuring the BACK for a Morning coat, the skirt (tail) is traditionally knee length.

When measuring for trousers, it is best to wear a comfortable well fitted pair of trousers with shoes, you can use the trousers as a guide line for measurements.

Chest; Measure the chest around the fullest part, placing the tape measure close under the arms making sure the tape measure is well up at the back over the shoulder blades. It is best to add one inch to the total measurement for comfort.


Shoulders;
Measure the widest part of the shoulders.

Two measurements are required.
The Measurement from the top of the arm / sleeve down the outer sleeve to the cuff edge.
Arm / sleeve - Inner;
The second measurement is taken from under the arm to the cuff.

Back - Jacket Length;
This will give the length of the jacket. Measure the centre back length, taken from the centre of the neck at the collar seam to the hem.

Measure around the natural waistline over any under garments which may be worn. Waist circumference needs to be measured 1 cm below the belly button after having slowly breathed out. No holding your belly in!

Hips / Seat:
Measure at the widest part.

inside Leg

LEG OPENING (Ankle):
The leg opening of the trouser.
(the total circumference)

Outside Leg;
Measure from the natural waistline to the hem.

Inside Leg;
Measure the inside leg of a well fitted pair of trousers from the crotch to the ankle hem.
     

Thigh

Thigh;
Measure the widest part of the thigh, (between the hip and the knee).

Full Height;
Measure from
the floor to
the top of
the head.
